16. HDPE Installation

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is an extremely versatile material that is utilized for a number of engineering works. As one of the most versatile plastic materials around, HDPE plastic is used in a wide variety of applications, including plastic bottles, milk jugs, shampoo bottles, bleach bottles, cutting boards, and piping. Known for its outstanding tensile strength and large strength-to-density ratio, HDPE plastic has a high-impact resistance and melting point.

Injury and Damage	1. Cause by poor communication     between worker parties	1. Secure and apply all PTW support documents     prior to start the job and kept in one folder 2. Conduct TBM (Tool Box Meeting) and discuss    the JSA & work procedure with employees 3. All personnel will wear the appropriate PPE for     their specific task 4. Work force has good understanding of task     and working to the approved JSA and permit    requirement
Injury to personnel	1. Non compliance of safety and HSE     procedure during installation of HDPE    lining	1. Listen to the instruction of engineer or     supervisor in charge and follow the procedure    and ensure that the area is free from obstruction 2. Supervisor & foreman must teach the worker     how to right positioning of cutting and use gloves    for cutting 3. Proper position of manual lifting to prevent back    injury
Electrocution, Eye irritation and Skin Burn	1. Lack of safe awareness during     electric welding	1. Supervisor must give the instruction of the     worker before the start of the activities 2. Ensure that the grounding cable are installed     and perperly grounded 3. Only certified welder having certification for     specific job shall be allowed to perform welding    job  4. Work personnel shall wear PPE such as gloves     and goggles 5. Work personnel do not away from welding     equipment prior to completed work 6. All electric welding equipment will be kept in     good repair and used only for the intended    purpose 7. Tools must be properly stored when not in use 8. All electrical operated tools shall be double     insulated grounded and shall be rated at 220    volts and portable power tools must be equipped    with proper function "Dead man switch"
Sips and Trips	1. As poor housekeeping 2. Can cause by inadequate storage     materials	1. Good housekeeping a place for everything and all    materials must be keeping right place 2. Materials not obstruction for access 3. Arrange all the materials in neat orderly manner 4. Remove al damage meterial and dispose of     properly

저의 경우, 주로 물배관으로 사용되는 배관라인과 Tank 주변 Dike 내부 바닥에 지반침투방지용으로 접했습니다. 

대부분 열을 가해서 접합해야 하며 다루기가 용이하죠!! 전원선 상태 확인 및 다림질과 같은 작업방법의 경우는 화상 상해에 주의해서 작업해야 할 것 입니다.

HDPE도 지중매설된 것들이 많습니다. 터파기할 때 조심하셔야 합니다.

제가 근무한 현장은 물배관을 너무 많이 터트려서 물바다 많이 되었습니다 ^^;;;;
